The Department of Computer Science was established in 1995. It became a Post-Graduate department in the year 2010. Currently the department offers Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate courses in Computer Science. Many of our students were placed in various IT companies such as Microsoft, Wipro, TCS, and Oracle etc.., and some others are worked as teaching faculties in reputed institutions across the world.

The Department of Computer Science launched a YouTube Channel TechTube MTCST and streaming variety of programs through it including a news channel TechTube News. This covers news from various sections of the Institution. It is broadcasted once every month.

Department provides an Add-on course Basics of Microsoft Office to the students of all departments in our college.

There are 9 faculty members in the Department. Ms. Shanu Thomas, Associate Professor is the present Head of the Department.

Three Year BSc Computer Science (Six Semesters):

BSc Computer Science is a 3-year undergraduate programme that deals with the subjects and topics related to computer science, computer applications, and its services. The main aim of this program is to create quality professionals who can work in every sector of the world by implementing the technology of computer systems and software.

Main Subjects: Computer Science, Electronics & Mathematics.

After Graduation:

After graduation students are eligible for admission to MSc Computer Science, MCA, and other Post-graduate courses in Information Technology.

Application Analyst, Database Administrator, Game Developer, Information System Manager, IT Consultant, System Analyst, Teacher, Web Designer.

Computer Applications (BCA)

Computer Applications (BCA) is a 3-year undergraduate programme that deals with the subjects and topics related to computer science, computer applications, and its services. Post-Graduate Programme

Two Year MSc Computer Science

MSc Computer Science is a 2-year Post-graduate programme that deals with the subjects and topics related to computer science. It is a technical course which provides students with an opportunity to develop proficiency and core competence in the field of Computer Science.

Eligibility

Three Year BSc Computer Science

A Pass in Higher Secondary (Science Stream) or any other Examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the University of Kerala with Computer Science / Computer Applications / Mathematics as one of the optional subjects.

Three Year Computer Applications (BCA)

A Pass in Higher Secondary (Science Stream) or any other Examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the University of Kerala with Computer Science / Computer Applications / Mathematics as one of the optional subjects.

Post-Graduate Course - MSc Computer Science

A candidate having Science /Engineering in computer science /Computer Application/Electronics as main or an equivalent degree recognized by the University of Kerala for the purpose or any Science /Engineering Degree with Computer Science /Computer Application as one of the main or Subsidiary or core subject with minimum 3 years after 10+2.

For CBCS Pattern - 2013 admissions: with not than less 5 CCPA(s) out of 10.

For CBCS Pattern prior to 2013 Admissions: With not less than 2 CGPA (s) out of 4.

Annual scheme or other pattern: With not less than 50% marks.

Scope

After completing BSc Computer Science the student could get job as Application Analyst, Database Administrator, Game Developer, Information System Manager, IT Consultant, System Analyst, Web Designer. In addition to this , students completing PG can also work as lecturers and can also go for their research work.
